Kjell Pahr-Iversen an artist among artists was born in Stavanger Norway in 1937. Pahr-Iversen has become one of Norway's most prominent innovative and contemporary artists. He has achieved worldwide notoriety and fame, holding exhibits not only in Norway and Europe but also in Asia and America.
Pahr-Iversen is accomplished in a multitude of mediums from Stained Glass to Canvas; his works are typified by a prevailing compositional theme, with colors delivering an animated luminosity and vibrancy. As Pahr-Iversen often produces series of paintings showing a partiality for musical, religious or literary themes, he is a natural fit with NYCMF; augmenting the aural musical experience with imagery.
Well grounded and schooled in both the history of European culture, as well as its’ modern-day culture, urbanity and ethos; Pahr-Iversen successfully combines these diverse influences creating individual, sophisticated and entirely contemporary masterpieces. The NYCMF is excited to partner with Kjell Pahr-Iversen in this year’s festival (2010), aiming to develop a unique youth painting experience, while broadening the artistic foundation for these aspiring young artist.
